Avocado Oil
Avocado Oil used is the most expensive Ahuacatlan oil. It is 100% PURE coming from the avocados harvested in Michoacán, the cradle of the best avocado in the world. All of the avocados used in the product are selectively handpicked, then takes a short journey to the factory. Here they are washed and the skins are peeled, before the fruit and seed undergo a natural cold maceration treatment. They are processed under the strictest international health norms. The avocado’s pulp, depending on the variety and the ripeness of the fruit, can reach up to a 25% fat content, in average 15 – 19%, allowing extraction levels at around 10%. This oil has a high level of unsaturated fatty acids.
One of the main content is a sterol, called phitosterol, that has similar characteristics to lanolin and has been greatly accepted in cosmetic uses. Avocado oil has the highest smoke point of all plant oils at 490 degree F (260ºC). It is rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, E and D, and monounsaturated fats. Interesting fact: On average, it takes 25pounds of avocado’s to make the 33.8 ounce bottle of avocado oil.
Avocado’s Benefits
Rich in Vitamin B6 and folic acid, it is laden with antioxidants associated with slowing down aging. Avocados are good for the heart: It is a good source of potassium which helps lower blood pressure. Oleic acid is the primary fat in avocados. The fat in avocados provides protection against heart diseases. Avocados helps in absorption of carotenoids (fat soluable) – especially beta-carotene and lycopene, which are essential for heart health. Research has shown that avocado consumption is associated with improved diet quality, nutrient intake and reduced risk of Metabolic Syndrome. Metabolic Syndrome is a group of symptoms that raise the risk of corornary artery disease.
